The Staff of the Campbell County High School Cougar Band
Director - Adam Wright
Adam Wright is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. He graduated from UT-K in May of 2011 with a BM in Music Education. He was a member of the Pride of the Southland Marching Band at UT-K. Mr. Wright was also a member of the Tennessee Trombone Choir, University of Tennessee Symphonic Band, Studio Orchestra, the Tennessee Trombone Quartet and many other ensembles.
Mr. Wright is in his tenth year as head director of Campbell County Schools' bands. He accepted the position on recommendation from Don Hendricks, director emeritus, in the summer of 2014. Before becoming director of bands, Mr. Wright served as the general music teacher at La Follette Elementary School for one year. He also spent one year as an assistant band director at Powell Middle School in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was also the Low Brass Tech with the high school's marching band. Mr. Wright student taught with Janet Roach, M.J. Robinson and Ricky Shaw at Powell Middle School and Powell High School in Knoxville, TN. He also has countless hours of teaching private lessons on low brass instruments and guitar. Mr. Wright now serves as the band director for Campbell County High School, where he conducts the Cougar Marching Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band. He also directs the bands for La Follette Middle School and Jacksboro Middle School. At these schools, he is responsible for the beginning bands and advanced bands. |
Director - Tiffany Braden
Tiffany Braden is the newest member of the team. She was hired into Campbell County schools in January of 2024.

Director Emeritus - Don Hendricks
Don Hendricks is the former band director of the band programs in Campbell County, TN. He retired after building the band program to what it is today. Over FIFTY years of excellence in teaching has brought the program to a school known for its pride and tradition. He is an alumnus of the University of the Cumberlands. "Mr. H," as many students call him, is one of the most revered citizens in the Campbell County community for his patience, dedication, passion and love for music, but more for his love for teaching students to be the best they can be in all facets of life. He has a faithful group of students, who he inspired, that still have a passion for music instilled into their lives. He plans to continue supporting and uplifting the traditions of this program through instruction and as an ambassador to the public.

Booster President - Mr. Ed Morton
Ed Morton has been the backbone of the Campbell County High School Band for over three decades. After retiring from the Army, Mr. Morton has acquired unmatched organizational skills that hold the band program together. As booster president, in which he has served for over 40 years he has volunteered countless hours to the betterment of our music program. Mr. Morton, a former trumpet player with the Jacksboro High School Band has two daughters, Emily and Kathy, that were members of our Cougar Band.
