Jazz Band
The Campbell County High School Jazz Band is a voluntary ensemble that meets after school each week for one hour. The ensemble is made up of a standard rhythm section with possible instrumentation ranging from trumpets, trombones, baritones, the family of saxophone instruments, flutes, piano, and other instruments on rare occasions.
In order to be in Jazz Band, students must commit to attending all rehearsals and rearranging their schedules around Jazz Band. Students must be in high school, or by special invitation as an eighth grader.
Performances for the Jazz Band are also extra-curricular. We always perform at the annual Chili Supper & Auction fund raiser for the band. We always attempt to take our students out for the opening ceremony of the Dogwood Trail. We take the students on a very humbling trip to the local nursing homes, where the students get more from the experience more than those who attend. We also perform at the end of the year concert in May.
The Jazz Band is always open to play at any event we are able. Typically we will need to turn in a notice of at least one month for us to perform. We would love to come out and play for any event!
